People living in Wayne County reacted with shock after the third small plane crash in that county in just over a week.
A small plane went down Sunday just after take-off outside of Waymart. Two men were on board, one was hurt.
“I actually know the guy. He actually took my son on a young eagles day and flew with him, so and he was a seasoned pilot, so,” said Skip Martin of Honesdale….

The deadline is here for school students to have their proper vaccinations, otherwise the state wants districts to send the students home.
Two weeks ago, the state gave an extension until this week because thousands of students statewide were lacking the proper shots.

Federal investigators are expected back on the scene Monday of a plane crash in Wayne County, the third in just over a week.
The small plane went down Sunday near Route 296 outside of Waymart around 5:15 p.m.
Two people on board. One, Walter “Scotty” Ogden, is still in the hospital.

Officials have released the names of the people involved in a fatal plane crash in Wayne County.
The four-seat, single-engine plane crashed in a wooded part of Sterling Township Wednesday night.
The pilot, Patrick Sheridan, 34, and a passenger, Casey Falconer, 19, were killed.
A passenger, Evan Kisseloff, 21, survived. All three were from New York State and all three were students in an aviation…

Three men from New York were on the single-engine plane when it crashed Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. at a small airport near Hamilin.
Only one of those men survived.
It is the second deadly plane crash in a week in Wayne County.
The plane actually crashed into a wooded area about a half mile from the runway at Spring Hill Airport near Hamlin.

Two people were killed in a plane crash Wednesday night in Wayne County.
Authorities confirmed a single-engine plane went down around 10:30 p.m.
The plane crashed and caught fire in Sterling Township.

U.S. Postal Service Cuts Hours

The U.S. Postal Service announced Wednesday that it no longer plans to close thousands of rural post offices across the country. Instead, hours will be cut back.
In addition, thousands of employees will be affected when their positions are switched from full-time to part-time.

A man died after a plane crash Saturday in Wayne County.
The Lackawanna County coroner identified the man as Jeffrey Gilbert, 67, from Rock Hill, New York.
State police said Gilbert was attempting to land his plane around noon at Cherry Ridge Airport in Honesdale. Troopers said something went wrong during the landing and the plane crashed in a wooded area nearby.
